SENICDR CLASS HISTCDRY Ihe majorrty of the class of 1950 has been at the Englewood School slnce the sophomore year and some bovs have been here srnce the srxth grade Erght of the twenty four semors are post graduates who have come from nearby schools to make final preparatrons for college Many senlors have dlS tlngulshed themselves as outstanding cltlzens and able leaders Roger Bruce was honored by hrs class last xear by bemg elected a delegate to the Student Forum on Freedom and Democracy held at Columbra Unnersrty As a junlor Blck Hart man represented the School at the Boys State at Rutgers UDIXCISIKV Thls year B1ll Tlcknor was gn en the second team berth on the Al1Metropo11 tan Area Football team These are but a few of the many semors vxhose accomphshments are of great mer1t Thrs year the Senlor Class has contributed a great deal to extracurrlcular act1v1t1es Although the Varsrtv teams had onlv moderately successful seasons Coaches Ward and I-hcks were not at all dlsappomted for the fight and courage of the boys xx as admrrable Manx SCHIOF Class Thesplans were D2 rn the casts of The Bzshops Candlestzcks by Vrctor Hugo Outward Bound by Sutton Vane and Pygmalzon by C B Shaw The staffs of the Spectator and the Blue and Wlute are malnly com posed of Seniors At the close of the frrst semester twelve Senlors hare college certlfylng grades Sxx of them have honor averages Of the remarnrng there are five students who are certrhed ln all but one subject Most of the class plans to enter college rn the fall College chorces range from Harvard to Yale Prlnce ton Dartmouth Colgate Weslyan Wrllrams Buck nell St Lawrence the Merchant Marrne Academy Hamrlton The goals of these students are hlgh but the bovs have proven themselves dependable cltrzens md IH college and later lrfe they are certarn to be worthv graduates of the Englewood School 7 , I I 1 , , I f ' as Q l , K ,Q ' . . , . , .
