An aura of the tropical islands with the scents of exotic fruits and fresh flowers, the aroma of wet sand and burning torches, and the colors of the bright floral shorts and grass skirts de- scended on England on May 15th, 1981 The night was truly an evening in paradise for those who attended the prom in the England High School cafe- teria, provided by the junior class. Some arrived in dad's old clunker and others came in chauffeur driven limou- sines. Whether a couple enjoyed the banquet or McDonald's, the evening that followed would not be soon forgot- ten. The banquet began with a welcoming speech given by the junior class presi- dent, Kevin Scribner. It was followed by a response from the senior class president. W6 Ln SQ, W Q 0 Q? NT 5' Shortly after the welcoming speeches, dinner was served. The menu consisted of the fol- lowing: shrimp cocktail, mari- nated chicken on rice, broccoli with cheese sauce, and straw- berry shortcake. The beverage served was punch. After dining on a delicious meal, the students retreated home to change for the dance. Appollo II, which was a video screen showing all the latest music videos, provided the en- tertainment. The junior class worked hard to raise the money for the prom, and the effort put into making the prom special was deeply appreciated.
