CLASS HISTORY 1975 Recall yourself getting off the bus in September of 1972 about to enter Enfield High School for the first time. After a 9-month reign in Junior High, we stood before these doors, our hearts interwined with feelings of anticipation, awe, fear, and uncertainty about the future. But enter we did to leave our mark upon the school and to take with us the engraved memories of Enfield High and our fellow students. We knew we had to establish ourselves and helping us were the members of the Sophomore Student Council: President Patty McGowan; Vice-President Chris Andrews; Treasurer Sandy Kweder; Secretary Sally Loftus; and Class Historian Cory Kelly. The representatives were Kathy Bride, Jeffrey Curtiss, Laura Jarmoc, Cindy Jute, Kathy McGuiness, Lynn Sferrazza, Bruce Wardwell, Colleen Sulivan, and Pete Dumas. Sophomore names appeared in many of our fall sports. Five members of our class enriched the Varsity Football Team: Dave Flower, Joe Dippel, Rich Morris, Dan Garvey, and Bill Olshafskie. Participating on the J.V. Football Team were the following sophomores: Tony Brown, Ron Chevalier, Carm Conte, Bill DeMur, Marcel Dubois, Brian Gamage, Frank Giguere, Frank Gould, Brian Hallett, Bruce Humphries, Steve Jerome, Bill Korona, Dennis LePage, John Mooney, Rick Olshafskie, Jim Santacrose, Bruce Soderland, Art Stoddard, Jeff Thibodeau, Bill Thomson, Michael Welsh, and James Preste. The first Enfield-Fermi Thanksgiving Day Football Game was held that year and Enfield gave an outstand- ing performance as they shutout Fermi 23-0. Steve Magora excelled on the Varsity Soccer Team as a sophomore. Exemplifying their talents on the J.V. Soccer Team were John Badger, Jim Bousquet, Comie Buanno, Mike Cooney, Gary Hammond, Cliff Hoxie, Peter King, Mark Rhodes, James Vallee, and Ken Wright. Pat Healy, Diane Kamay, Brenda Meyers, Valerie Smith, Phyllis St. George and Marcia Frangimore magni- fied their athletic abilities on the Field Hockey Team. Always present to inspire our teams onto victory were the J.V. Cheerleaders; Arlene Choolgian, Elaine Hitchcock, Donna Krivac, Sue Massee, Brenda Meyers, Laurie Wagner, and Dawn Greenblott. Showing a very promising season on the Varsity Basketball Team were sophomores Jim Hayden and Carm Conte. Assuring our success in the years to come were Tony Brown, Gary DeHaas, Joe Dippel, Brian Hallett, Peter King, Steve Magora, Rich Morris, Rich Landry, and Norm Booth. The Boy ' s Swim Team was introduced into our sports schedule that year. It showed great promise for the future as it mainly consisted of the following sophomores: Bob Callahan, John Carrollo, Mike Cooney, Ed Fetko, Fred Fisher, Jeff Folger, Mark Folsom, Mark Henley, Russ Miller, Phil Pouche, Bill Snow, Mark Thorstenson, and Sam Thompson. The J.V. Girls Basketball Team had a winning season with the help of Sandy Bailey, Lillian Bottomley, Mary Dunagin, Lynn Sferrazza, Patty Tracey, Shelly Turgeon, and Cheryl Williams. Starting off their Baseball careers on the varsity team were sophomores John Carrollo, Bill DeMur, and Joe Dippel. On the J.V. Team were John Badger, Ron Chevalier, Gary DeHaas, Russ Fiore, Brian Hallett, Bruce Humphries, Peter King, Dennis LePage, Bill Korona, Rick Landry, Bill Nehila, Ken Owens, and Mark Rhodes. These girls were at the softball diamond; Vikki Burington, Kathy Coughlin, Linda Dowden, Mary Dunagin, Leslie Meyers, and Sue Poliks. The Track Team had a fine year with the help of 15 sophomores; Bill Boucher, Tim Castelvetere, Mike Cooney, Jeff Curtiss, Greg Eckenroth, Pete Felix, Fred Fisher, Frank Giguere, Frank Gould, Paul Gracewski, Gary Hammond, Rick Levasseur, Art Stoddard, Mark Thorstenson, and Ken Wright. We had overcome the uneasiness felt at the beginning of the year and left school knowing that we had secured our place in Enfield High School. It was with a feeling of confidence that we walked back through the doors of Enfield High in September of 1974. A new student council was elected. Chris Andrews became president; Pete Dumas vice-president, Kathy McGuiness, secretary; and Sandy Kweder was re-elected treasurer. This year we had two class Histor- ians. Jeff Curtiss began the year and was later replaced by Tracy Strickland. The representatives in our Junior year were, Kathy Bride, Pam Gonyea, Laura Jarmoc, Paula Kilty, Lynne Mathieu, Karen Nelson, Colleen Sullivan, and Greg Wilby. As footb all season approached, we knew it was going to be an exceptional year. Jim Hayden and Ray D ' Amato were added to the squad. We stomped over Fermi in the Thanksgiving Day Game with a score of 39 to 21. Steve Cote, Eric Longfellow, and John Mooney were new faces to the soccer team in 1974. Field Hockey attracted many new juniors to the team: Mary Dunagin, Sandy Bailey, Debbie Boisjolie, Janice Cerrato, Arlene Choolgian, Kay Dripchak, Tracy Strickland, and Shelly Turgeon. Six juniors made a fine debut on the Cross Country Team as sophomores. They were Jeff Curtiss, Fred Fisher, Brian Smith, Rich Levasseur, Art Stoddard, and Mark Thorstenson. Four new girls became cheerleaders, Nancy Crompton, Sandy Kweder, Carolyn Eberle, and Kathy Sherwin. Leslie Meyers and Tracy Stricland became members of the Girls Basketball Team. Many new juniors appeared upon the mats for the Wrestling Team in 1974. They were Tony Brown, Jeff
