(hr stage were Kim Martin, Dawne Robinson, and Tim Riley. Our attempts to apply the light of knowledge in our preparation for our future were accellerated in our junior year. Chosen class officers this year were Laura Baione, President; Dave Nelson, Vice-President; Sherry Molyn, Secretary; and Gary Gowdy, Treasurer. We elected as representatives Larry Baione, Jerry Calnen, Terry Calnen, Peter Grace, Duane Nelson, and David Nelson. Dave Nelson was also elected Student Council Treasurer. Although the Valley Wheel Championship was not ours that year, Russ Tyler, Joe Nosal, Dan Naughton, John Ackerman, Frank Thompson, John Ravenola, John O’Dell, Robbie Robinson, Dave Tucker, and Roy King made us proud of their effort and sportsmanship on the gridiron. Fighting for the J.V.’s were Jim Arietti, Joe Kempf, Rich Nolan, Randy Ladd, and Tom Bernard. The Varsity Basketball team, consisting of Russ Tyler, Dave Tucker, John Ravenola, John Ackerman, Jim Arietti, and Dave Petursson did their best to bring our team honor. Cheering for both football and basketball seasons were Rosemary Sullivan, Jane Sanger, Nancy Keller, Cetta Angelica, Linda Porcello, Peggy DeMaria, and Gerry Schianca. On the J.V. team were Bill Malinow- ski, Joe Nosal, and Rich Gwozdz. Rousing the spirit for the J.V.’s were Janice Wojnar, captain; Marlene Willette, co-captain; Marilyn Turbak, Diane McCauliff, Janice Nareski, and Pat Blowen. Lynne Riopel and Cheryl Copas were on the Drill Team and Cindy Shea and Laura Baione displayed their talents as Majorettes. Our second successful class project was the “Roaring Revue” Variety Show. Opening the show were M.C.’s Laura Baione and Jack Triolo. Highlighting the show were Kathie Steinert, Larry Baione, Marlene Willette, John Ravenola, Russ Tyler and Tim Riley. Our Junior Prom, “Younger than Springtime,” was a night to remember. The theme of the prom was accentu- ated with an array of springtime flowers. Host and Host- ess Donnie Christmas and Terry Cremona greeted each couple. John Ravenola was chairman of the prom. Batting for Enfield were Tim Riley, Dave Tucker, Russ Tyler, Mike Gale, Larry Hayden, Bill Malinoski, John Ravenola and Randy Ladd. That year the Drama guild presented the never to be forgotten Oklahoma!” In leading roles were Kim Martin, Tim Riley, Dawne Robinson, Nancy White, Janice Woj- nar and John O’Dell. Those honored scholastically were Jeff Buczacki, re- cipient of a Math, Science award, and the Yale Book Award and Laura Baione who received the Connecticut Association of Women Deans and Counselors Award. Our last project of the year was the Senior Farewell Prom. Under the leadership of Angelo Severino, we made Moments to Remember” a truly memorable night for the class of ’66.” Host and Hostess for the evening were Linda Porcello and Russ Tyler. During the summer we sent Jim Arietti and Jeff Buzacki to Boy’s State while Marianne Such, Shirley Guzowski, and Babbette Cote represented us at Girl’s State. We entered our senior year with the enlightenment of experience. Again class elections were held. Laura Baione was re- elected President; David McKiernan, Vice-President; Cheryl Molyn, Secretary; and Nancy Keller, Treasurer. Student Council Representatives were all re-elected. David Nelson was then elected Student Council President and Larry Baione, Vice-President. The players on the football field were familiar to us. Tri-Captains, John O’Dell, Russ Tyler, and John Acker- man, along with teammates Bill Eaton, Dan Naughton, Frank Thompson, Dave Tucker, Jim Arietti, Rob Robin- son, Joe Nosal, Bill Kiernan, Kim Martin, Ned Arcouette, Bill Magnuson and Randy Ladd did their best to repre- sent our school. Cheering them on were Rosemary Sullivan, captain; Linda Porcello, co-captain; Cetta Angelica, Linda Yoreo, Nancy Keller, Jane Sanger, Marilyn Turbak, Peggy De- Maria, Gerry Schianca, and Janice Nareski. Linda Porcello was appointed Editor-in-Chief of the yearbook while Pat Blowen was named opening editor, Cindy Shea, senior editor, Rosemary Farley, features editor, Russ Tyler, Sports editor, and Marilyn Turbak, advertising editor. Diane McCauliff and Elena Lamagna were named assistant editors and Laura Baione, literary editor. On the basketball court were Tri-Captains John Ra- venola, Russ Tyler, and Dave Petursson; and seniors Jim Arietti, Rich Gwozdz, Joe Nosal, and John Ackerman. Our Senior Prom, “Mistletoe and Holly”, was alive with the spirit of Christmas. Host and Hostess, Vicki Jones and Roy King, welcomed each couple with the season’s greetings. Chairman of the event was Mart Alaimo. The Drama Club had already begun to think about their play and chose officers to lead them in their project. Elected were: Tim Riley, President; John O’Dell, Vice- President; Nancy White, Secretary-Treasurer. Seniors on the Hockey Team were Ray White, Rich Falkowski, Jim Bergeron, Bruce Wilzewski and Bill Eaton. Covering the bases for Enfield were Tim Riley, Russ Tyler. Bill Malinowski, Mike Gale, Randy Ladd, Dave Tucker and John Ravenola. We leave our high school years behind us not knowing what the future will hold. But we will not be afraid of this unknown for we carry the Lamp of Knowledge whose light emanates from our heart, soul and mind, and with this light we are not afraid of the dark. 25
