Seated, left to right: Miss Barbara Ilebotte; Mrs. Anne Johnson; Miss Jill Fitzgerald; and Mr. Anthony Torre, Department Head. reasoned the concepts of our universe, MATHEMATICS DEPARTMENT In today’s increasingly complex world, a graduate of Enfield High leaves with a background which will enable him to become a productive citizen. Mathematics is an especially important step in this direction. Students have the opportunity to study subjects ranging from Math I and Algebra I to Trigonometry and Calculus. Many of us have received these benefits and we are confident that our mathematics depart- ment will continue to enlighten the many underclassmen to come.

BUSINESS DEPARTMENT The business department aids the student in prepar- ing for a career in a highly industrial world. According to his individual needs, each student may obtain both technical knowledge and experience in varied business skills. There are many specialized areas available for study. Typing, bookkeeping, stenography, business ma- chines, business mathematics, selling and business law, economic geography, general clerical practice and busi- ness principles are course offerings in the business curriculum. Business machines enable the students to develop the skills of using office equipment. 15

Included in the offered courses are general science, physical science, earth science, biology, physics, and chemistry. In all science courses, the student is trained in the techniques of scientific method and investigation.
