Senior Beta Club Left to right: Vicki Williams, Secretary; Ruth Chichester, Treasurer; Adah Parker, President; Sharon Craft, Vice-President. “The purpose of this organization shall be to promote the ideals of honesty, service, and leadership among the high school stu- dents of America, to reward good achieve- ment and to encourage and assist students to continue their education.” The Senior Beta Club has certainly lived up to its purpose in the year 1969-70. Not only did it sponsor the school newspaper, the Student Crier, but it also teamed-up with the Student Council in a clean-up campaign. The Beta members also made much progress in establishing Beta Clubs in nearby academies, and it began a Junior Beta Club at Enfield Academy to promote scholarship and leadership in junior high students. In April, the Club attended the Beta Convention in Raleigh.
