The Patrons of Enfield Academy Left to Right: Mrs. C. W. Locke, Treasurer; Mrs. Rom B. Parker, President; Mrs. John Branham, Vice-President; and Mrs. Wade Dickens, Jr., Secretary. The Patrons of Enfield Academy is composed of both parents and friends of the Academy. Working throughout the year, these dedicated supporters give free ly of their time and service in order to augment the Academy. When school is not in session, they renovate the buildings, making new classrooms, painting, install- ing fixtures, and gathering needed supplies and teach- ing aids. The P.E.A. also helps to finance the Academy by holding bake sales, auctions, plays, and festivals. Last April, the patrons turned actors and produced The Womanless Wedding. This hilarious comedy was a big success. Two of the largest and most successful of their projects are the fall and spring festivals. This year the fall festival made nearly seven thousand dollars. Ninety percent of the profit is turned over to the Board of Trustees for the operation of the school. The remaining money is used for special P.E.A. projects. The patrons’ constant support and willingness to work whenever needed has made the Enfield Academy a successful and constantly growing school. 21
