Designed to sweep all types of influence and contact mines, ENDURANCE is constructed of non-magnetic ma- terials and has the latest in minehunting sonar. Many exhaustive hours were spent learning to stream gear and minehuntg dividends were paid when we were required to sweep live mines, search for a crashed helo, and participate in the Fleet Service Mine Test. Minehunting and minesweeping are very arduous operations requiring everyone's teamwork and cooperation. Minecountermeasures operations may con- tinue for a week or longer during which time a couple of hours sleep or a hot meal is a real luxury.
