SENIOR HIsToRY In the year, 1930, a stalwart group of boys and girls were gathered to- gether in a small 2x4 room. There was certain tenseness in the air, for this was the day of all days! This small group had just entered school. Now, after 12 years, we are leaving' this same institution. But before we leave we would like to tell of some of the things we did during' these twelve years.. I suppose our first eight years of school were about the same as those of anyone else, with the possible exception of having our school burn in 1933. After a year of attending school in a church basement, we moved into our new school. Our school life then resumed its natural routine. After four years we entered high school, this really was a momentous oc- iasion for us. The first and foremost dread the Freshman initiation. But after having attended the ordeal we found to our great relief that we were unduly alarmed. During' our Sophomore year some of our members received plaudits for their unusual prowess in many athletics, namely: Wes.sy Peterson, Moe Moriarty, Daigo Waldhalm, and others. These honors, we think, were justly deserved. Then came our Junior year. We can say, with modesty you understand, that we really accomplished things this year. First, there was our Junior play, The Tomhoyf' This play was ably directed by Miss Dolores. Osen, and its star was Miss Geraldine Johnson, who was supported by a cast of very capable actors. After our play came the carnival which was even a greater success than the play, and yet there was to come a greater success-our prom. This was really the liighligit of our Junior year, and we cannot ,help being proud of it. But while we are patting ourselves on the back, let's not forget the person to whom we owe the greatest. share of our very successful Junior year, Miss Margaret Norheim, with- out whom we could have accomplished hut a small share of the things for which we are so proud. We now come to the time for which we have fervently longed-our Senior year. But, even as we say this we know we are betraying ourselves, for whom among us really desire to graduate? Not one of us! As we look hack over the years we cannot help but feel ahtinge of regret that we are leaving so line an institution, and in parting let us extend our sincerest thanks to those who made it possible for us to complete this first milestone-our parents and our teachers. - The Class of '42'
