IMPORTANT among the improvements on the campus during the past year, aside from the erection of the new stadium, are these additions, which have not been included photographically in the foregoing pages: ' Donation of the Wilson Recreation grounds east of the new stadium. This area comprises five acres of wooded land, which has been partially cleared, and which will be used for recreational purposes. Establishment of a visual education section in the Physics Department, a radio laboratory with a short-wave transmitter, a multiple current switch-board, and much other new equipment. Addition of much new machinery and twenty new drawing desks for the Industrial Arts Department, to take care of the large increase in enrollment in that de- partment. Creation of a new laboratory for the Commerce De- partment, and addition of many new modern office machines. Purchase of new furniture for the Student Union recreation room, and installation of a new soda fountain. Building a library department for the elementary school children in the Laboratory School Building. Purchase of two new upright pianos and a grand piano for Music Hall, and rebuilding of another upright piano. Refinishing of the Student Health office. Enlarging the Reserve Library and adding many more books. Planting of more than 300 new trees and 650 new shrubs on the campus during the year as part of the land- scaping program. Many of these are plants which are new to the campus.
