The aim of the university experience is the acquisition of knowledge. The stu- dent may acquire knowledge in a number ofways: through direct confrontation with the unknowng through supervised studies in and outside the classroomg through involvement with other human beings. The university compels the student to undergo all three of these experiences: an incoming freshman must meet the unknown quantity oi' university life, follow pre-planned academic courses, and adjust to some degree ot' involvement with his fellow students. Graduation brings the cycle through full circle to an even more awe- some question mark which must also be laced if life is to continue.
