.. Willy is fired by his boss. Howard Wagner. The Emory and Henry Players presented two plays spring term. The first was The Alchemist, a comedy by Ben Jonson. Its cast included Jerry Bradley as Subtle, Rob Weisfeld as Face, Carol Luther as Dol Common, Frank Lewis as Dapper, Greg Lowe as Abel Drugger, Mike Clark as Lovewit, Gerald Morton as Sir Epi- cure Mammon, Bob Fones as Surly, Jay Archer as Tribulation Whole- some, Bill Hatley as Ananias, Dean Lyles as Kaslril, Jill Stapleton as Dame Pliant, and Vicki Oldford, Donna Schuster, Marianne Gooding, Pam Evans, Jackie White, and Mar- tha Jo Price as the Neighbors. The play was directed by H. Alan Pick- rell, assisted by Cindy Coleman. The final play of the year was Angel Street, a Victorian thriller. 191

Death of a Salesman Arthur Miller’s Death of a Sales- man is the tense and moving tragedy of an ordinary man’s disintegration. The play centers around Willy Loman’s inability to achieve the American Dream and his failure to sec the emptiness of that dream. The cast included Jay Archer as Willy Loman, Carol Luther as Linda, John Cofer as Biff, Ron Sussman as Happy, Frank Lewis as Bernard, Martha Jo Price as the Woman, Jerry Bradley as Charley, Jim Weigand as Howard, Michael Milam as Uncle Ben, Jackie White as Jenny, Charlie Adams as Stanley. Janet Clark as Miss Forsythe, and Marianne Good- ing as Letta. The play was directed by H. Alan Pickrcll, assisted by Vicki Oldford.
