Baseball The baseball program at Emory and Henry is growing under the direction of Coach Arnold Mellinger. The team showed much improvement in all phases of the game in the spring of 1973. James Pharis and Phil McCall captained the team, and were both able leaders. Everett Neese led the team offensively and Charlie Chitwood proved to be the defensive standout. 1974 looks like a good year with the team losing only three seniors. Rick Rhudy hits a fore- hand volley. Tennis Tennis has been the number one winn of all of Emory's intercollegiate athleti teams over the past few years. Under tf direction of Coach Bill Rhudy it has grow constantly in the last five years. This year the team returns only two le termen, Rick Rhudy and Bill Maxcy. Coat- Rhudy looks to transfer students and fresl men to fill the void caused by graduatio and academic losses. Though lacking i experience there is an optimistic attituc among the players that will carry on tf winning tradition. 108
