The Hcrmcsian Literary Society was organized when the school was first organized, and the Alcthian Literary Society for women was organized in 1926. Their purpose and energy arc directed toward the bettering of each member’s forensic ability in order to equip him with self- assurance and ease in his future life. Participation in all forensic activity by members is encouraged. It is a scholarship, equal to Phi Beta Kappa, into whose membership arc admitted the highest ranking tenth of the senior class and the highest ranking fifteenth of the junior class. CIRCLE K The Circle K is an international junior Kiwanis group. Its purpose at Emory and Henry is community and cam- pus improvement.
