Manual-just what do we associate with this world? We think, of course of school, friends, sports, work, and many other adjectives. Since Man- ual has such a prevalent part in some 2600 student ' s and teacher ' s lives, it is natural that 1974 will be remembered for many things. Red- skins will associate the chill of the classrooms, discussions of political controversy and the threat of other shortages to 1974. K Education — a necessity to have in our society. Most Manualites re- alize this need for education even if many don ' t care for school. It is through education that we learn of life and living, as well as facts from books. Some feel that educa- tion is a source of information and skills that prepares for the future. We are able to learn from various sources; our own experiences, oth- ers lives, mistakes, and achieve- ments. At Manual we receive a formal education and also a social one, where people are the teachers, not only books. t Opening 5
