Active Redskins strive to achieve and to accomplish Out-of-school activities occupied the time of many Manual students who were active in clubs. Science Club not only toured the Butler Observatory and the I.U. Medical Center, but sold candy in hopes of taking a Spring trip to a city of sci- entific importance. Guest speakers and science fair project filled re- maining time. Distributive Education, headed by Miss Sue Workman, assisted seniors in finding jobs. They received two credits and in addition were paid for their outside work. In a compe- titive event between schools, six students from Manual went to the State Finals at French Lick. An Em- ployer ' s Awards Banquet ended the year. National Honor Society num- bered 51 members after it ' s formal initiation in May. Seniors and jun- iors were judged on qualities of character, scholarship, leadership, and service to be admitted to this honorary organization. Student Affairs Board met every other week and was active through- out the year. They sponsored stu- dents in the Jaycee ' s Walk for Man- kind and operated a booth at the Pow Wow. At bi-weekly meetings they discussed and searched for solutions to the problems facing the student body.
