Increasing Family Requires Extra Space For Crowing Needs -s flV Q Before we burst our seams, wise school officials added to our building thirteen regular classrooms, a new and larger library, an orchestra room, a printing lab, and double space for the auto shop. All have been completed now, giving us space to spread out and flex our muscles. So Manual grows and expands, so we mature and develop— through the common denominator of growing pains. We Crow with Our Studies — Manual ' s Purpose; For a journalism class feature, Mary Orlosky interviews School Nurse Virginia Edds on tuberculosis. Her story was entered in the local division of Columbia Scholastic Press Association ' s TB writing contest. The Booster won a cup for best overall coverage from the Marion County TB Association; and Susan Peters, a trophy for a news story. A tape recorder, new in the English Department this year, is helping Norma Toon and Don Sullivan improve their diction. Mr. James Kas- tetter, operating the recorder, is using it in his English 6 class. Extracurricular activities was the topic for discussion during a session of Junior Town Meeting. Commenta- tor Easy Cwynn and Engineer Willis Fix recorded the program for radio station WIBC. Panel members — Ron Neesen, Linda Wilson, Moderator Bob Humes, Jim Haas, and Ben Schanzel — were in Miss Athena Chochos Speech class fall semester.
