Measuring the horsepower of a person by timing Jack Palladay ' s speed as he runs up stairs is Mr. Wayne Dunbar ' s physics class. The actual computing is done by formula. Larry Mills, Lonnie Robertson, and Rita Carson find that after-school hours provide valuable time for Chemistry lab experiments. Here they heat potassium chlorate to produce potassium chloride and oxygen.

Math and Science Become Seperate Departments Ken Beisinger and Pamela Jones check the temperature inside Manual ' s Weather Station, a project of the Earth Science class, new this year. It is located on east campus across the Ransdell Street drive from the Gym and attracts much interest. Cadet Teacher Anthea Salsbury and Mr. Noah Ellis, science teacher, assist Roger Mankedick and John Maryfield with a lab assignment in biology. Microscope study opens a whole new phase of miniature life to biology students.
