Sopnomore Paul Stroud and Junior Bob Humes, both winners in the Regional Science Fair, study Paul ' s project, which won second place in 10th grade science. Bob ' s entry, Parameters of Dental Radio- graphy, received first place for the best dental project and honorable mention in engineering. Mr. Larry Fanning, executive editor of the Chicago Sun-Times, congratulates Jerry Steadham on his winning a journalism scholarship at I. U. Journalism Institute. Manual ' s Exercise in Knowledge team, composed of Seniors Bill Styring, Jerry Steadham, Karen Smith, and Judy McBride, brought honor to Manual by winning WLW-I TV ' s high school quiz program. JoNell Rugenstein and Ralph Tacoma were extras. 21 .

Parents Back Us with Crowd-drawing Projects Tri-Hi-Y ' s French cafe at the May Pow Wow attracted weary visitors to its red-check-covered tables for coffee and donuts. Feature attraction on the parking lot was the Roines Rinse where the prize for having straight aim was seeing a member dunked. Mrs. J. Dudley Workman, Mrs. Irma Adams, Mr. Workman, and Mrs. Earl Lewis greet refreshment stand comers with glazed donuts. Parents also keep hungry basketball fans satisfied. Games of skill at club-sponsored booths send many Pow Wow visitors home with arms full of prizes. Crowds are sure to gather at parent-manned refreshment stands both before football games and during half-time.
