Varsity highlights included wins over Whitehall and Becahi as well as ties with Freedom and Pius X. Senior Scott Carraher was named to the all-state team after his fine performance in the Whitehall game. The JV team lost the first four games of the season but came back to win the last seven in a row. Because of the talent Coach LeGath saw in the JV team and the many underclassmen playing at the varsity level, he expects a fine team next year. 69 70 The Golf team posted a 15-5 record to finish third in the East Penn League. Bob Fritz, who finished seventh in Districts, went on to win the League championship. He also won the Keith Smith trophy for having the lowest average on the team. Chip Miers was the most improved golfer and, together with Bob Fritz and Dan Gratton, went on to represent Emmaus in District competition. 71 CHEERLEADING The 79-80 Cheering squads were increased by two members each to handle the ever increasing demand for cheerleaders. The squads attended close to 150 events covering a variety of sports. The girls work hard attempt- ing to keep up the team, spirit. j wmmmBw ' —■ ---------------- Row 1: J. Kline. L. Ketner.
