SOUTH HALL IS DOOMED The Old must give place to the New No matter how good the old be. Full cerfoin the advent of change, As life ' s hours inexorably flee. So the roof ' s taken off — trucked away — And the windows are blind openings now. All the siding is missing today, And the rafters their proud gables bow. South Hall, Once our pleasure and pride. Once the heart of activities all. At the hands of stern progress has died, Will be gone e ' er the end of the fall. All the fixtures ore gone long ago. And the storm siding ' s now coming off. While the mosquish Bell Tower ' s laid low. And at bore studding strangers may scoff. AN in vain do our memories cry — Spore spore the old building so dear. None can make Time stand still — though some try! Naught can hold back tl e changes, we fear! But the lives of her sons, through the years. In many a difficult place Hove shone bright through the pain and the tears And reflected the Story of Grace. And though buildings and men may subside. And the rafters — and bodies — decay. Truth and Character ever abide. And grow brighter and stronger each day! George H. Jeys 86
