Qlma Mater Reared on the heights of Ida, Against the wide-arched sky, The sunbeams fall athwart thee, The moonbeams gently lie. Across thine open hilltop The winds blow bold and free. O ye gray walls protecting, We raise our song to thee. Come let us sing together A song of grateful praiseg In honor of our founder The joyous strain upraise. 'Twas she beheld the vision, And wrought with steadfast will 'Tis we with joyous labor That vision must fulfill. Semper Fidelis singing, To Emma Willard dear, Above thy gray walls ringing, Our song floats sweet and clear. O touch each fleeting moment With friendship's alchemy! Qin the Jfacultp There is no greater treasure meets our quest, There is no greater pot of rainboW's gold Than fearless knowledge, glowing at its best, All that an eager mind can grasp and hold. But there have been false gems to blind our eyes, And there are devious paths that We may take, The torch that only Hickers once and dies Does not decry its brilliant light a fake. There have been those whose friendly touch of hand Has been a magnet true. You have not failed, All through the years the tasks that you have planned Have helped to charter seas as yet unsailed. No finer memory than this is ours- Your gracious guidance of these youthful hours.
