JUNIOR CLASS 43 Q ' Back row Marilyn Kayser LouEtta Bender Douglas Weeldreyer Warren Weeldrever John Berg Donald Wlblemo Gordon Osterloo Virginia Schulte Lila Hlllard Mrs Herbold Front row Tom Fahy Mona Kr1er Dorothy Buehler Myron Weber Joan Hextzman Donna Kavser Jim Johnson JUNIOR CLASS HISTORY On September 4 1951 twenty two freshmen entered Emery High School An 1r1t1atxon party was held on September 19 g1ven by the seniors All of the fresh men came to school in costumes Aftex three weeks Herman Krumm started school This brought the freshmen number up to twenty three Class officers were elected as follows Myron Weber president Don Wrblemo vice president J1m Johnson secretary and Donna Kayser student council rep Don Wiblemo Gordon Osterloo and Herman Krumm made the first ten in basketball Four from the class played 1n the band and four took part 1n Declam All the g1rls took part in the Girls Glee Club and Mixed Chorus A freshman octet was also orgamzed Donna Kayser Mona Kr1er and L1la Hillard were chosen as cheerleaders Vera Helman and Herman Krumm dropped out of school later ln the year On September 1 1952 twenty freshmen entered Emery High School and en olled as sophomores Travis Letsche did not return for h1s sophomore year in Emery The Class officers were as follows Gordon Osterloo presxdent L1la H11 lard vice president Jim Johnson se retary and treasurer and Dorothy Buehler student COUHCII representatlve Donald Wxblemo Gordon Osterloo and J1m Johnson made the first ten in basketball for this year Lila Hxllard Joan Heltzman and Mona Kr1er were chosen cheerleaders The girls all took part in Girls Glee Club and all boys took part in Boys Glee Club All boys and girls were rn Mixed Chorus Demece McManus dropped out at the end of the first semester and enrolled in Alexandria At the end of the term eighteen finlshed the school year On August 31 1953 all the students came back to fin1sh their Junior year After about two weeks of school Ruth Letcher enrolled bringing the total up to nineteen The class officers are L1la H1llard president John Berg VICE presldent Marilyn Kayser secretary Edward Krumm treasurer and Myron Weber student councll representative Most of the boys went out for basketball Gordon Osterloo and Don Wxblemo made the first five and Myron Weber Jlm Johnson and Warren Weeldreyer made the second five Don and Tom participated in track All the girls sang 1n the Glee Club and Joan Heltzman Dorothy Buehler and Virginia Schulte took part 1n the Sextet Joan Hextzman Dorothy Buehler Myron Weber and Douglas Weeldreyer sang in the Mixed Ensemble Vocal soloists were Joan Dorothy Virginia L1la Myron and Douglas All the Juniors had part ID the Junlor play Boarding House Reach L1la H1llard was chosen to go to G1rls' State and Douglas Weeldreyer to go to Boys State Ruth Letcher dropped out later in the semester leaving e1ghteen to adam fin1sh the school term 1 1 .' . - A 4 , D . - - 1 1 1 ' 1 1 .1 1 - 1 . SENIOR CLASS HISTORY On Sepember 4 1950 twelve freshmen reglstered at Emery H1gh School The class off1cers were elected as follows Pres Jlm Lee VICE Pres Harold Mueller Sec and Treas Ruth Lub bers Student Councll Rep Merlvn Swyter An 1n1t1at1on partv was held at M1lltown for the freshmen All of the boys were out lor basketball The glrls all took part ln Glee Club and Pep Club Ruth Lubbers took Declam On September 5 1951 all twelve of the freshmen returned to Emery H1gh School and enrolled as sophomores The f0llOVV1I1U class off1cers were elected Pres LeRoy lb1S VICE Pres Nell He1man Sec and Treas Dean Hofer Student Councll Rep Roger Decker Roger Decker Jlm Lee Nell He1man and LeRoy Ib1s were out for basketball Charles Carlln was chosen as manager lor the basketball team Those who played ln the band were Charles Carlln Merlyn Swyter and Dean Hofer The glrls all took part 1n Glee Club and Pep Club ln September 1952 all the students except J 1m Lee and Harold Mueller returned At the end of the f1rst semester Harold return cd The class off1cers were Pres Rosanna Osterloo V1ce Pres Dean Hofer Sec and Treas LaVonne He1man Student Councll Rep LeRoy Ib1S LeRoy Ib1S and Roger Decker were th only leRoy and Roger also went out for track All part1c1pated 1n lVf1XGd Chorus and Glee Club All the glrls partlclpated 1n Phys Ed Dean Hofer and Ruth Lubbers sang 1n the Mlxed Ensemble All the Junlors had part 1n the junlor play Look Out LIZZIE Rosanna Osterloo was chosen to go to Glrls State and LeRoy Ib1S to go to Boys State Ruth Lubbers and Roger Decker were chosen alternates On August 31 1953 ten students returned to Emery Hlgh to complete the1r hlgh school 9dUC8t1OD Two weeks later two new students reglstered 1nto the class to brlng the total to twelve They were D1ck Letcher and LuVerne Browen Class off1cers for the vear are as follows Rosanna Osterloo presldent Ruth Lubbers V1CEpI'eS1deI1t Marlene Hanssen secretary LeRoy Ib1s treasurer and Roger Decker student councll representatlve Most of the boys went out for basketball w1th Roger Decker and LeRoy Ib1s on the f1rst f1ve and LuVerne Browen on the f1rst ten Roger and LeRoy were out for track All the g1rls took part 1n Glrls Glee Club Ruth Lubbers and Marlene Hanssen took part 1n the Glrls Sextet Ruth Lubbers Dean Hofer and Roger Decker sang 1n the M1X6d Ensemble and Roger Decker and Dean Hofer also took part ln the Boys Quartet Marlene Ruth Dean and Roger were also all vocal solo1sts Ros anna Osterloo was elected D AR representatlve The senlors all had a part 1n the senlor play Take It Easy Rosanna Osterloo was valedlctorlan and Marlene Hanssen was the salutatorlan of the class 7 7 ' 9 ' -, 9 . ., - 9 -, . - . 7 7 . .
