Homecoming '86 Homecoming this year was one of the most exciting weeks in the school year. The studentbody pulled together and joined in as one to create the most school spirit shown in years. The activities began with Spirit Week. During the week each day had a theme, ranging from Dress Up day to Jersey Day, and even Nerd Day. “Homecoming was more exciting than I’ve seen it in years. Many people made comments to me on how well everything was organized. They were impressed with the school spirit demonstrated by the stu- dent body,” commented Laurie Brad- bury, who was crowned the 1985-86 Homecoming Queen. The Homecoming assembly was a memorable one. Everyone will remember Neil Peacock’s cartwheels. The Student Body Officers put on a “Spirit raising tele- a-thon,“ and by the end of the assembly they’d raised over 1 million dollars in spir- it. The Senior girls went into the Powder Puff game with very little hope of a victo- ry. They were out-numbered in size and in people but finally over-ruled the Juniors with a 14-6 victory. The Football Team battled for a victory over South Sevier. The final score was 40 to 17. During half- time the Drill Team performed to “New Attitude’’ by Patty Labell, which was choreographed by the drill mistresses. On Friday afternoon, the parade was held. As far as anyone could remember, it had the most entries in ECH’s history. The Senior class float was awarded “the Most Beautiful Float,” and the Drama Club demonstrated the South Sevier Marching Band. The Homecoming Dance was held on Saturday night, where the Homecom- ing Royalty was announced. The King Queen were Chris Olsen and Laurie Brad- bury; the 1st attendants were Davin Stil- son and Geri Lyn Thomas; and the 2nd attendants were Joel Wilson and Lori Matsen. The theme was “Cherish” by Kool and the Gang, and the band was London Bridge. Homecoming 1985 will be remembered by all. i 2 10 3
