SPARTAN SCHOOL SONG Like the Spartans of old, we are brave, valiant and true. Our armor untarnished, our standards we hold high. The gold will show our bravery; the spark of grey shines true. For valor bold the black will stand; hear now our battle cry. Like the Spartans of old, no friend we'll deny. We are warriors strong in battle; we're from Emery County High. We will defend our ideals with all our heart and zeal; See our shields held high, thrust them to- ward the sky; Spartans march to victory! Like the Spartans of old, no friend we'll deny. We are warriors strong in battle; we’re from Emery County High

FOREWORD ' ' A .student's school life has Us seasons. In the springtime of life, a young child begins his schooling with his friends. There they learn games that are fun, draw exciting pictures, and attempt to write fascinating words. As AUTUMN approaches, the grade-school pupils progress; they find themselves in junior high- midway on their journey through education land. The games are more strenuous, the drawing has become more ex- acting, and the not-so-fascinating words should be spelled correctly. Upon leaving the junior high school, the pupils feel as though a WINTRY blast has blown down their necks: college requirements must be met; themes must be written; mathematics requires more concentra- tion; and dress standards are enforced. Yet, school is a place that alumni call their dear ole Alma Mater. What is a high school? A high school is many things to many people. To those who call themselves alumni, it's a memory of an all-too-brief episode in their past. To students, it's laughing, studying, and sometimes crying; yet, it's always breathtakingly exciting. . .only youth can survive it. A high school is more than just a building. The building holds something that can’t be classified as brick or mortar. This something is the Emery County High School Spirit- the binding force that keeps Spartans yelling in the face of insurmountable odds, holding hands between classes, and trying to get those assignments in on time with only one thought in mind: make that graduation line.
