WV1 INTRODUCING THE FIRST EDITION OF PUBLISHED BY THE ASSOCIATED ST UDENT- BODY OF EMERY COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL MCMLXIII CASTLE DALE, UTAH 2 FOREWORD To those who open this book Welcome! The staff of the 196 3 Spartan hopes that as you turn the pages of this book you will relive all of the expe- riences, achievements, and victories which have made our E. C. H. S. just that much better. We have published this yearbook with the purpose in mind-- To help you remember the remarkable school spirit which has bubbled i n every corner and in every person at our school. A balanced education holds the keys of school spirit. Each section of this book represents one of these vital keys. As editor of this yearbook I would like to thank Mr. Kinder and all the faculty members for being behind the students in everything they have attempted to achieve. The students have had that extra spark which is needed to achieve something big. Because of the spirit of cooperation between the students and faculty we have had a banner year at Emery County High. Long live our school Spirit. ” The editor, Diana Childs 4 As we look forward, we see the new Emery County High School, filled with the laughter and spirit of her students. When we pass through her halls and sit in her classrooms, we feel an under- current of this school spirit. The exist- ance of school spirit is everywhere ev- ident. It can be seen not only in sports, but also in the eager participation in dances, assemblies, organizations, the band and chorus, and in magazine, newspaper, as well as classworK. This avid school spirit is the reason behind all of the great, outstanding achieve- ments that are to come from Emery High. The Spirit of E. C. H. S. was born at the beginning of this school year.
