They have taken trips to Milwaukee and Madison over icy roads: have been snowed in for hoursg have given nights of study and discussion to plans, materials and finances: have given constant in- spection and approval: have spent hours in conference. But it has been given cheerfully in the assurance that eventually there will be a high school in Stevens Point that will be second to none in the State. Mr. Masterson has earned our appreciation not only because he has given freely of his business training in enabling us to definitely anticipate a new school. but also because he has demonstrated that essential educational leadership in bringing greater educational opportunities to the students of Stevens Point High School. Any organization that achieves a definite objective does so because of the leadership of an individual. Mr. Neuberger has been the moving spirit in bringing the hopes for a new school into definite realization, As chairman of the Building Committee, the demand upon his time and energy has been heavy. CITY COUNCIL The High School student body is appreciative of the fact that during this most difficult time when the problems of city government have multiplied in complexity and importance, the City Council has placed the building of a New High School first on the list of needed city improvements. The members of the Council have cooperated with the Board of Education and other school of- ficials in making possible this much needed new building. Although the class of 1937 will not have an opportunity to use the new building as students, they know better than any other group the need. Not only in the building of new quarters but in cooperation with the Board of Education in regular school ac- tivities the City Council is an important factor in the development of better schools, We want to express our thanks to this Council for their effort and in- terest in a better high school.
