HOCKEY The hockey team was made up largely of seniors. The seniors were Cooper, Borski, Konopacki, Classen, Russell, and Burquest. The remaining members of the squad consisted of Loomis, Dunn, Wroblewski, and Zuege. The team won one and lost one to Marshfield, won two from Rapids, and lost two to Wausau. They also won a game from Medford. The prospects for a good season next year are bright. This year Point had a B squad in hockey where the fellows received some valuable experience. Back Row: E. Olingy. ten. FROSI-I Basketball and Football This year's freshmen class Will probably produce some future stars in both football and basketball. The boys were bigger than the average freshmen. The football team only lost one game. Some of the boys who will be starring on the HA squad in a few years are: Al Olingy, who Won his letter this year, Dizzy Moss, Leonard Simonis, and Bob Menzel. These boys proved that football Wasn't the only sport in which they could excel. In basketball the team forced the B squad to the limit to win. The team, with the average height to 5 feet and 7 inches, was made up of the following boys: Dizzy Moss, Whose height gave him added advantage in getting baskets: Harold Moss, a steady player: Dave Pfiffner, a guard who handled himself remarkably Well for a freshman: Melvin Schuweiler, a player who had lots of drive: Al Olingy, a good defensive player: Marvin Hansman. who used his height to good advantage: Exner Menzel, who may follow in the footsteps of his brother Roy: with Prank Steckel, Bob Menzel, and Ben Dough- ty rounding out the first ten. INTRA-MURAL BASKETBALL LEAGUE I-IEAVYWEIGI-IT DIVISION The heavyweight division of the Intra-Mural League consisted of six teams. Haka, Schultz and Fabian Mancheski were the stars for the Bears. Read- ing, Mailer and Miller played outstandingly for the Giants. The second half was won by the Bears and Tom McGuire's Comets. In the second half play off the Bears defeated the Comets 25 to 14. In the first half play off the Giants defeated the Bears 18 to 14. In the championship the Giants again came through defeating the Bears by a score of 23 to 20. PAG E 94
