1 ilu illlvmnriam Arthur Simoni REFLECTIONS I, myself, through battle saw God, But only after I had fought long and hard, The sun shone bright thru the cold and mistg Q And His breath warmed me like my Mother's I spoke with God from my Fox-hole For it was then, He asked me for my soul. Ks you may know I am dead, Writh a dirty fox-hole for my bed, But even though God has taken me, From far above the battle, I see Just why, many like me have died for A land of freedom we shall see no more. kiss. Never again to see my dear old home, For now in Eternity I must roam. Never again to see my friends, I have reached the time when friendships end, Never again to see the smiling face I love, For she is in a world below and I above. And as the darkness draws near, I have a thought of, sensitive fear For one of my Buddies, I loved so well. God judged him a coward and cast him into Hell Please forgive his soul DEAR GOD, I cried, But God replied, 5'For his own safety you have died.'
