The Coronation 'Queen Beulah of the House of Perk1nsnCMiss Elysian Fields, was crowned January 27, l95O amid pomp and ceremony the like which has not been seen before on our campus. The beautlful flowers, and the capable sponsors in the persons of Mrs. Fluellen, Mrs. Hamilton, and Misa Smith added splendor to the elaborate occasion. In the parade was Queen Beulah Perkins with her escort her attendants and their escorts. This celebrated party led the parade in a 50 Mercury which was driven by Mr. Marshall. Fbllowing this Noble Party came another 50 Mercury with Miss Elysian Fields' sponsor in the person of Mrs. Fluellen, the attendants' sponsors in the persons of Mrs. Hamilton and Miss Smith. Miss Hardy was the driver LeBob Jernigan escorted the Queen and Rev. Locket, a student teacher of Bishop College, crowned her. Mlss Zenobia Stewart and Miss Monnle Ruth Wilson CF1rst and Second attendantsj were escorted by Messrs George Marshall and Meritt Leffall respectively. After the presentation of the crown to WM1ss Elysian Fields,n by Rev. Locket , the comely Miss Bernice Hardy gave the Queen an exquisite boquet of flowers arrayed in our school colors fthe cherished blue and whitey. We hope that the Coronation of next year will equal this one for it will be hard to surpass.
