RESUME OF SEASON Fbotball was introduced to the Elysian Fields High School for the first time September 1949. The season was well underway before we received any equipment. We began the season with only one player with previous experience in the person of Fred Lawerence Porter. Our Main Objectives of The Season Were: l. Te develope fundamental techniques of football. 2. To learn and practice habits of good sportsmanship. 3. To produce a challenging team. Captain Fred Lawerence Porter spearheaded the team until fate struck him in our first game with Carver High at Khrnack, Texas. He suffered a broken leg. Then, Freddie Wollen took over the helm as captain with Marion Holloway as co-captain. We have brighter prospects for a better team next season, for there will be several capable players on hand with a years experience. Henry F. SBDOSPS5 Coach
