High School Life. The guests at Class Night were enter- tained by members of the Senior Class. A terrific amount of preparation went into the Senior Promg but, gee wasn't it worth it? Aren't you glad you saved your money for that handsome new suit or gorgeous formal? Didn't your date look like a dream? An orien- tal theme was chosen and after the decorations were set up, the gym looked just like the Orient. The guests admired the Chinese pagoda which added to the atmosphere. The couples had a mar- velous time dancing and dining to the music of Chuck Hargrove's Orchestra. Harold Mischka's act, shown, was only one of the outstanding performances. The 1961 Class Night started with a delicious meal served by the mothers of senior girls. After the dinner there was a program composed of talent from the Senior Class. An informal dance in the gym followed the program. This was the last social event the entire class would share together. 25

Seniors Are Awarded by Scholarships and The last few weeks for seniors are filled with many memora- ble occasions and assemblies. One such assembly is Senior Chapel, which is dedicated to students who have excelled in their four years of high school work. The graduates-to-be gather in the auditorium to receive their honors before the student body. Some honors bestowed upon the seniors are the Gates Scholarship, Thespians Awards, and Language Club Scholarships. An inspiring moment for parents was when they saw their child march in with his fellow graduates for the Baccalaureate services. The services were held at the stadium this year. Rev. Fogle presented the sermon for the seniors. Baccalau- reate drew to a close with the Benediction. 26 As a senior friend walks proudly to the stage, an underclassman will beam as though she were his sister, whom it might be. Among the smiling faces of the student body and the flashing of light bulbs, many of the graduates-to-be are somber, for they realize that this is their last assembly at E.H.S.
