Homecoming Activities Highlighted by Homecoming . . . 1961 The tension had been building up all week long and by Friday, everyone had caught some of the excitement. Through- out the gym that morning whispers of I wonder who will be queen, and Oh, I hope . . . could be heard. Finally, the queen and her court were announced by their respective escorts. Thus began two wonderful days in the lives of these girls - two days they will never forget. That evening was the crowning at the football game, topped off by a victory over Findlay. The following night brought the girls' weekend to an end with a gala Home- coming Dance, which featured a special number, giving all the males a chance to dance with the queen and her court. So ended two days . . . two days that made up Homecoming . . . 1961. The Homecoming Court and their escorts pause for pictures during half-time. A smile radiates the happiness Sally Dyke feels just after she has been crowned the 1961 Homecoming Queen, A spirited assembly, along with a skit featuring Rolfe Gruen as a Russian homecoming queen, started off the Weekend's activities. hu-.....
