Mr. Sandrew, head of the Science Department, helped gulde the projects of all general science, biology, chemistry, and physics students. OUR TOWN AND OUR SCHOOL A science first in Elyria showed its head on February 7 and 8, l959. The first annual Science Fair, with displays by industry, government, and students of Elyria High School, became within a few hours one of the most successful under- takings at our school. Many hours and a good deal of money were spent to make the projects as perfect as possible. With emphasis these days on the scientific aspect of our daily lives, the Fair brought into the sight of the public the advancement of the Science Department. Awards were handed out on the basis of points, and there were four top winners with eight runners-up. Commendation should go to all concerned for their hard work. But more important is the insight into E.H.S. and its changing times given to the people of our town and our school.
