Final command The final appearance by the class of ’83 is here. As we approach the academy awards of graduation, we recall some of our earlier performances. Our freshman year was just a beginning for the class of ’83. Our float came in fourth place, but who will ever forget about “Rack’em up”! We sold light bulbs later in the year; wasn’t that a bright idea! Miss Kilgore was our sponsor. We finally moved up a notch, big sophomores. We improved a little on our Homecoming float, “Spur’em”, which received second place. Our first class officers were President Tim Morgan, Vice President Jim Savage, Secretary Susan Ogden, and Treasurer Christie Herniak. We sold candy this year with our new sponsor, Mrs. Luurtsema. One thing we won’t forget is the sophomore party at Mrs. Yates. Our junior year came along; we were finally upperclassmen, and our lockers were downstairs. Our float, ‘‘Devil Tamer” captured a second place. We sold candy again this year to raise money for our prom. Can you believe we turned the cafeteria into a Southern Plantation! Our senior year seemed to present early challenges, ordering announcements and gowns in October! Our big disappointment of the year was our third place Pantherprise. Our big decision is our future plans — college, marriage, job, or vocational school. As we take our final walk in May, we will have many memories of ECHS.
