AJew Horizons Ahead After passing many signs the last four years the Senior Class on May 27, 1981, passed the go sign to a life away from El-wood High and on to many ways of life. Valedictorian speakers for the commencement were Sara Rittenhouse, John Scircle, and Laura Sizelove. Their topics were “The Past, the Present and the Future.” Keith Morgan, class president, gave the closing remarks to the graduating seniors as they left on their way to explore new horizons. 1. The BIG moment has arrived for 1981 Seniors to switch their tassels. 2. Sara Rittenhouse speaks to the seniors about their past. 3. Gary Boy land, Shaun McCorkle. Alan Gerth and Dan Rebuck enjoy the short time left before commencement. 4. Lori Buster comforts Tammy Baker before taking the big step. 5. Steve Whitehead gives Bobby Walker a helping hand before commencement. 6. Angie Carron accepts her passport into the future from Mr. Merritt 7. Cheryl McQuitty shows her happiness about taking that big step into the future. 10

Defensive played an excellent football game with Don Lee named as best defensive player and Chuck Fernung and Ted Melvin, best offensive players. During half-time with the score of 14-0, Jeri McQuitty was crowned Homecoming Queen.
