Prom Royalty: Sara Rittenhouse and Keith Morgan were crowned Queen and King by Junior Class President Mick Helpling. Students attending Prom ’81 were welcomed warmly to the “Gala Celebration” by doormen and waiters in top hats and tails. Everyone received the red-carpet treatment and entered a setting of the Plaza Hotel with all elegance imagined. Tables were complete with champagne glasses, balloons, and confetti, and couples were entertained by the music of Sunday Drive, the band furnished by the Senior Class. Sara Rittenhouse was crowned Queen, and Keith Morgan was chosen King as everyone enjoyed themselves while overlooking the fantastic New York skyline. 6

“Rhapsody ’81” was the theme for our 1981 variety show. Mr. Bruce Sellers, band director, directed the variety show in two spectacular performances held May 1 and 2. “Rhapsody ’81“ featured many students in skits, songs, and dances. Closing the show for the grand finale was the traditional “Battle Hymn of the Republic”. 1 The band closes the show by playing the traditional “Battle Hymn of the Republic.” 2. She should go professional. 3. Boy. can they sing and dance! 4. Let’s do the Can Can! 5. Boy. this floor is cold! 6. Tammy Baker, and Lori Buster sing “Sailing” while Mark Vinson accompanies them on the guitar. 5
