Chris Loepke as Captain Bangaroo and Bill Kessinger as Mister Green Jeans entertain members of the choir who form a captive children's audience in the Variety Show skit Captain Bangaroo. Panther Band Network Presents: A Day in TV Land. This was the theme of the 1973 variety show. Emcees were Steve Kiefer and Roger Crowe. Highlights included In Search of Yesterday , a heart wrenching soap opera; Let's Make a Squeal , a riotous game show; and Herlock Sholmes , a mystery. They wrapped up the skits with Snooz News . The show ended with a Moment of Inspiration as Jeff McDaniel sang with the choir accompanying him. Leading characters were Jeff McDaniel as Charol Canning, Chris Le-opke as Captain Bangaroo, Pat Cri-mans as Mr. Nixon, Jeff Weddell as Max Mixor, Gary Bush as Johnny Larson and the Panther Band and their majorettes. For the grand finale the majorettes brought out the flag while the band played The Star Spangled Banner . Counterpoints Kay Weddell, Vicki Huff, and Vicki Freund sing a medley from the Carpenters. 11

Prom ’73: Visit to Aquatic Rhonda Murray and Sally Tharp chat with their dates. Sophomore pirates serve punch and cookies in Pirates Cove. Visitors to the lost continent, Atlantis, dance amid cascades of watery glitter and friendly fish. Other Prom goers enjoy refreshments and a chance to talk with friends in the pirate atmosphere of treasure chests, sabers and gold dub loons. 12
