In a machine every part is important, but some parts cannot be seen. In an organization every person contributes his part. Some stand out conspicuously; others perform their duties unnoticed. They are all equal. George Lamsa

With a Smile and a Song is both the theme song and describes the Glee Club. and Glee Club Equal The Advanced Choir Although the Glee Club is only three years old. it has made great advances under the capable leadership of Mrs. Scircle. Along with president, Joyce Crull, are Diane Stanley, vice-president; Janet Garner, secretary; and Margaret Coons, treasurer. The girls, attractively attired in blue and black outfits, have presented many musical programs for local functions, both in and out of school. They have made a fine showing in several of their performances this year, such as the Christmas program, which they presented to the student body. The girls also traveled to the County Choral Festival, held at Madison Heights. We are very proud to have such a fine musical organization in our school, and certainly congratulate the girls on their great strides toward success. Deserving recognition along with the choir and glee club, are two outstanding groups. One is the Willkie Barbershop Quartet, composed of Eddie Jones, Don Hancher, Mike Wilburn, and Terry Small. Not to be outdone by the boys, the girls have a trio, called Three Notes and a Staff, made up of Mary-Ann Cannon, Judi Rudig, and Jeanette Lightfoot. Both groups are accompanied by Susan Allen, and have become very popular around Willkie High. Joyce Crull, president of the Glee Club, Pat Wolf, president of the Choir, Mr. Jenkins, and Mrs. Scircle, select the music for coming performances. 26
