Sweet Miss Kathy Oldag, escorted by Tom Hillan, The class of '63 backed cute Miss Jackie Rudig, es-was the choice of the class of '62. corted by Sam Fisher. Day, a Charming Queen, and an exciting game didate, lovely Kathy Oldag of the sophomore class, cute Jackie Rudig of the freshman class, and radiant Eileen Plummer, 1958 Homecoming Queen of the class of 1960. The finishing touches were presented that night at the annual Homecoming Dance, with a theme of Autumn Leaves. The den was decorated elegantly by the Juniors, and the dance was quite a success. Thus eleven o'clock ended a perfect day filled with wonderful memories to be kept for years to come by everyone. The Juniors cheered for joy as Miss Judy Cherry was crowned Homecoming Queen of 1959. 17

Pretty Miss Linda Courtney, escorted by Sam Court- The class of '61 chose lovely Miss Judy Cherry, es- ney, was candidate of the class of '60. corted by Phil Berry, as their candidate. Our Homecoming was Perfect with a Beautiful September 19th turned out to be a beautiful day for the 1959 Homecoming. The alumni came from all around to renew old friendships. The beautifully decorated convertibles, the colorful float designed especially for the queen and her court, the band doing its state fair show, and the mighty Panthers defeating the Alexandria Tigers 19-0 made a wonderful and eventful Homecoming. The outcome of the Queen contest proved the Junior class victorious as charming Judy Cherry, their candidate, was selected as Queen. The other candidates were Linda Courtney, the pretty senior can- The queen candidates made a lovely sight on the colorful float.

Crescent Queen, Ruthie Fettig, and her court, Carolyn Scott, Marjorie Hamilton, Ginny Hocker, Karen Dooley, Joyce Morris prepare to lead off the dance. Ice Palace” and Winter Wonderland” Silver snowflakes and sparkling white icicles set the mood for the Crescent Dance held on January 21. Even the frosty weather outside helped in creating a majestic ”Ice Palace.” Crescent Queen candidates had been elected by the civics classes and included Joyce Morris, Ruthie Fettig, Virginia Hocker, Carolyn Scott, Marjorie Hamilton, Karen Dooley. Pictures of the candidates were posted at the door, and students placed their votes when they arrived. Everyone waited in anxiousness as Joe Bilby crowned pretty Miss Ruthie Fettig as 1960 Crescent Queen. Soloist Winnie Shaw accompanied by the Varsitonians provided music for the dance. 18
