A new addition to Willkie organizations . . . Troup 58 of the Thespian Society. Dances, Plays, Queens, and Parties All Phil Sharp, outstanding orator, placed 1st in the county Voice of Democracy Contest. September 1959 found the Class of '60 returning for its senior year, the last of four years never to be forgotten. The Class of '61 had finally moved into the bracket of upperclassmen and frantic work began for its members. No longer the youngest in school, the Class of '62 began its first year of organization while the Class of '63 entered the confusing, bewildering freshman year. Warm autumn days, marked by falling leaves, saw the students go about their activities with renewed vigor. Class spirit ran high . . . HOMECOMING! The mighty Panthers ran wild as they won a decided victory over their opponents and the annual crowning of a lovely queen added to the day’s festivities. 10

A basketball player doesn't always end the night with the game; there's always the aftergame dance too. Contribute to the Events of 1960 Brisk weather soon gave way to cooler weather and snow flakes began to fall on Willkie Land. Christmas vacation . . . Holiday Tourney, dances, carols, and mistletoe. All too soon vacation was over and exams accompanied blackouts of the mind. A pretty queen reigned over the annual CRESCENT Dance. Red and blue decorated halls, hats, cars, and kids--all advocating one event . . . SECTIONAL! Spring and cupid arrived on the scene. A boy's heart lightly turns to baseball! Many months of planning and practice unfold in the Panther Band Varieties of 1960. Warmer weather brings flowers, fluffy formals, and the PROM! Once again exam papers are looked upon with sheer dread. GRADUATION . . . how fast these last four years have flown . . . how many memories we have . . . how many exciting things lie ahead. On College Night Garland Hardy of Ball State aroused plans for future education. 11
