The Student Council is an important organization which has much to do with governing our school. Each home room chooses one or more representatives to the council. These students discuss the problems of the student body and then present their ideas to Mr.Copeland, the principal. This group is sponsored by Miss Mary Allen. The officers for this year are Jared Carter, presidentg Conrad Seibold, vice- presidentg Richard Brown, secretaryg Martha Frazier, treasurer. 10

NATIONAL HOUIILR SOCIETY X 'I B 4 i i in ' '21 5 ' 2-'Bs mm ls L5 Character, leadership, service, and scholarship are the four qualities a student must have to be chosen a member of the National Honor Society. The member- ship may not include any more than ten percent of the junior and senior classes. All members are on probation until graduation at which time, if they have main- tained their requirements, they are made life members. The National Honor Society is a scholastic organization recognized throughout the nation. It was organized as an incentive for higher attainments by high school students, therefore, permanent membership in this organization is in- deed a proper reward for such attainments.
