Nineteen hundred sixty-two and nineteen hundred sixty -three both gave a few of their months to make a school year. . .a memory. . .a part of our lives. We saw many things during our year--from the Cuban crisis to new space conquests to the making and parting of friends. Closer to home, we witnessed the making of a new unit school district. We found ourselves a place on the ground floor and watched the unit grow and mature through its first year. We saw how classes grew in size, how outlooks broadened, but most of all, how quality education con- tinued. As we reach the end of this year, our first at ECUHS, We find our memory bank with added stock. Whether your most remembered time be homecoming, tournament time, a special date, or just some special class, it is our aim to preserve this tnemory for you. May v0u carry this 1 book with you throughout life and treasure the memories it will always bring back to you. i Many of the pictures in this book will, we hope, surprise you. It has been our aim to pre- sent a book which is complete--whi1e being spontaneous--one which portrays a school as it ac- tually is.

Intangible? These questions raced through our minds for many hours when we tried to select an appropriate recipient for our dedication. We wanted something with sentimental value - yet not mushy; something more spiritual and idealistic than tangible; something which touched each of us - not just some. Our year of 1962-1963 brought many rough times to America. She struggled through a maze of difficult foreign decisions. her position sometimes frightening us deeply. Once again, she came through with head held high. Yes, we chose to dedicate this book to America and Americans as a way of reaffirming our faith in her and them. Surely she is blessed from sea to shining sea.
