Although certain fall sports had rough seasons, other teams, such as the girls' golf team, more than made up for that. Throughout the year, curriculum committees of students and teachers met in efforts to improve the academic offerings at Elston. Using. the strengths and weaknesses of the Phased Elective English program as a basis, new plans were worked on for other courses. Feelings were also very optimistic as plans for the remodeling of the older Elston buildings and the addition of fine arts facilities were revealed to all of us. Many of us knew we would not be here to see the propositions become reality, but it was good to know that we at Elston had not been forgotten.

Qin. - ff esta 'Q 1. sfo l. l l . . . ATEAR AND A SMILE A students life is full of ups and downsg days when everything goes right, and days when everything seems to go wrong. Emotions strongly affect our abilities to do right or wrong, and by the time a student reaches high school, he has usually experienced them all: the satisfaction of a perfect paper, the agony ofa blown testg the shouts of victory, the tears of defeatg the pain of seeing a friend lost to someone more popular, the warmth of a new friendship. And finally, thoughts of graduation will bring back these long forgotten memories, and we will recall our years at Elston . . .with a tear and a smile.
