Winski Expressmg the thought prevoking words of Shakespeare facing the nervousness of that tirst speech analyzing newspapers and finishing of the final draft of a re- search paper, these are only a few of the experiences which cross the path of a student in the English Department Besides English classes, which en- compass plays, poetry, essays, gram- mar and novels, there also are Jour- nalism and Public Speaking classes. In Journalism the students learn to write TV. and radio programs, make a newspaper, and learn the es- sentials of writing composition. The speech classes put on plays for the other classes in the English department. They also have debates, do demonstration speeches, and various ways of eliminating stage fright from the students Senior English, is for students who wish to continue their education in college, They read English literature, are taught to use the library effec- tively, and write research papers, all of which are Important in college. All in all the English Department could prove to be the most important to a student's high school career,
