Winter events brighten calendar at s at rg, x g? - X. wp Michigan City's Ersr junior Miss Contest was sponsored by the Jaycees in a search for the typical American girl. Their choice was based upon scholarship, personality, community interests, appearance, activities. Barb Weihmiller was selected and represented our city at state contest in Elkhart. Elston's love for the solemnity and tradition of Christmas was high- lighted in two holiday events-the annual Dahlite Christmas Tea and the yearly Thespian Christmas play. The Dahlite Tea in honor of administration oliicials, senior high faculty, parents of Dahlites and special guests was a pleasant afternoon of punch, cookies, and conversation. It was climaxed with the presentation of an original play, Let's Keep Christmas. Thespians presented two short plays, None But the Fair, a modern light Christmas play, and To Us a Son, depicting the reaction of a jewish family who witnessed the Nativity. At the invitation of the Womens Study Club, Thespians gave a special performance of To Us a Son at the club's December meeting. 20
