EB u 31Xxv xi uI LIKE IT LIKE THAT won first place for the Teen Towners. W'HILE W'AITING HIS TURN, John Franks watches Tike Kurz display his talent on the trampoline. TTIn the Good On a hot summer day, bands, Hours, drill teams, and downs led a parade down Franklin Street. Anticipation of who was to be crowned Miss Indium reached climax the night when Kathleen Burke was crowned. This was just the beginning of the Summer FCStival. The Marines had a mock landing on the beaches of Lake Michigan. An array of multi-colorcd fireworks was also displayed. This was a spectacular ending to the annual Summer Festival weekend. For many high school students, summer brings work along with its traditional fun. City teenagers hnd them- selves working as car hops, stock boys, office Clerks, and park workers. The money earned goes toward further education, spending money, clothing, and other neces- sities. Summer jobs give teens an opportunity to see the world with new eyes. After three months of work, al- mosr everyone is ready for classes when September comes.
