BATHING A BABY, Mrs. Klus demon- strates correct child care as -Iudy Xlfashluske watches. ccPractice makes Push a button: the prepare-o-matic pops the bread into the toaster and starts the coffee pot. After break- fast push the clearer-offer button, and the table is cleared and dishes washed. Push a button and the vacuum comes from its hiding place in the wall, obediently cleans the floor, and goes back into the wall. The world will revolve with the help of buttons- buttons, from the morning coffee to the midnight snack. XVhat would happen if the power failed and all the buttons ceased to work? Many homemakers would break under the strain of learning how to manage a home. But these girls, the students of home art courses would be able to rough it. Meals would be prepared, dishes washed, beds made, chil- dren watched, and housework done. These women would handle the problem with cool, calm skill. Preparatory husiness suhjects such as typing, gen- eral business, office machines, shorthand. transcrip- tion, and husiness Ifnglish can he studied at lilston. The teachers try to cultivate an office'-like atmos- phere. Students taking typing and office machines gain the use of modern equipment. Filing and prac- tice sets aid those in general business, and bookkeep- ing when given their practice sets.
