SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOGLS It is quite a task to keep our school system run- ning smoothly. No one recognizes this fact better than Mr. M. L. Knapp, who has been our super- intendent for fifteen years. Before beginning work as a school administrator, he obtained an AB. from Indiana University and an M.A, from Colum- bia Universityg he has done post-graduate work at the University of Chicago and at Purdue Uni- versity. He also was the principal of our senior high for thirteen years. Under his leadership our school gained high recognition in the scholastic field. We receive many benefits by the use of new and better educational methods. Although his office is located in the junior high school building, Mr. Knapp comes into contact with more students than one would think. In the elementary grades he makes these contacts by means of classroom visitation. Through the teachers and school publications he learns about junior and senior high students. He comes to know personally those who are an outstanding success or those who are in serious trouble. Mr. Knapp spoke at one of our pep sessions this year and has met once each semester with the group of cadet teachers. As secretary to Mr. Knapp, Mrs. Edward Hibbs has a variety of duties. In addition to general office work, she checks attendance data and super- vises the distribution of school supplies. Mrs. Hibbs and Mr Knapp
