Council revives student power Pep rallies, rooters buses, fences and student-faculty relationships were the main issues of the Executive Council for the l97l- 72 school year. This spirited group Was led by A. S. B. President, Mark Durrett, and was successfully supported by the rest of the council and the student body. Accomplishments Weren't limited for the council, as the Homecoming floats, parade and activities were restored. A spirit break- fast, a free rooters bus and sessions With the school board, faculty and principal were arranged as part of the new outlook for student participation. Changes occurred as the Den was abolished and S. A. B. , a council consisting of students and the principal, were brought together for better communication lines. Mr. Cooper and Mr. Hugh took the active role of advisors, with Mr. Hugh being the mediator between the council and faculty. Treasurer Caroline Childers If - 22

Class officers keep us together Class officers are the elected few who lead and repre- sent their own class throughout the school year. Each offi- cer belongs to Student Council, which organizes every other morning during zero mod to enable Student Council to know each class's needs and for each class to know what is hap- pening in Student Council. Each class is given certain responsibilities and privileges and it is up to these few to make sure these demands are met. Seniors are in charge of Senior Ditch Day, dedicating a class gift to the school and Graduation. juniors supply the concession stand for the football sea- son, order class sweaters and sponsor the Junior-Senior Prom. Sophomore duties range from selling programs to order- ing their class rings. Although the heshman class is not given any specific duties, it is up to them to get organized and accustomed to high school life for the next three years. FRESHMAN CLASS OFFICERS D.
